How to use Nudgemail
Two easy ways to use Nudgemail
Send any email to email@example.com
- 1. Set the “subject:” to the day, date, or time when you want the NudgeMail to come back to you. For example, Monday or tomorrow or July 27 or 2 hours are all acceptable ways to send a NudgeMail
- 2. Enter anything you want in the body of the email, then hit Send!
Or use the email “to:” to control Nudgemail
- 1. Set the “to:” to the day/date/time @nudgemail.com. For example, firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com are all good ways to send a Nudgemail
- 2. Enter anything you want in the subject and body of the email, then hit Send!

Set a Nudgemail for a day or month
Most Nudgemail commands are really basic, using common sense vocabulary to control your reminders. Remember, use either the “email@example.com” or “(your reminder period)@nudgemail.com” format. If you would like this list emailed to you, just send an email to commands@Nudgemail.com!
By days of the week:
monday@Nudgemail.com or mon@Nudgemail.com
thursday@Nudgemail.com or thu@Nudgemail.com

More Common Sense Commands
Many of us think in terms of “I’ll deal with that at the end of the day, tomorrow, or next week, next Friday, or maybe even next year”. With Nudgemail, you can send an email to many of these common sense commands.
EOD@Nudgemail.com (*sends your Nudgemail at 6:00 PM)
By default, all of your Nudgemails will arrive at 6:30 am. To change this setting, email nudgetime@Nudgemail.com with your desired time in the subject line. Click here for an example (set to 8:30AM)
If you want to change the arrival time of a SINGLE Nudgemail, reply to your confirmation email (sent each time you set a Nudgemail) with your desired time in the subject line. (e.g. 8:30am
Set a Nudgemail for a specific date:
You can set Nudgemail reminders to arrive on specific dates in a few different ways:
Make sure you enter the day, month, and year digits in the address. For example, if you want to set a Nudgemail for December 21st, 2010 – send your email to 12212010@Nudgemail.com. If you are an international user and would like to use the format DDMMYYYY@Nudgemail.com, simply email dayfirst@Nudgemail.com.
Write out the date in the address
Most people don’t write dates in numbers, so we made Nudgemail recognize commands likeDec25@Nudgemail.com, and October13@Nudgemail.com, and even March10.2012@Nudgemail.com . So, if you want to write out your month, go ahead! Again, if you are an international user and would like to use the day-first format, simply email dayfirst@Nudgemail.com.
Use the subject line and write whatever you want
If you email firstname.lastname@example.org, you can use your subject line to set any date you want, in just about any format you like. That means hyphens (10-12-2010), slashes (8/18/13), and even plain old writing (November 23, 2012) are all OK. Again, international users who want like to use the day-first format, simply email dayfirst@Nudgemail.com to turn on international mode.
Set a Nudgemail for a specific time or time intervals:
Remember, use either the “email@example.com” or “(your reminder period)@nudgemail.com” format, as specified above.
For a specific time:
2:30pm – 230pm@Nudgemail.com
9:30am – 930am@Nudgemail.com
and so on…
For a Time Interval:
1 hour from now – 1h@Nudgemail.com
30 minutes from now – 30m@Nudgemail.com
2 days from now – 2d@Nudgemail.com
3 months from now – 3mo@Nudgemail.com
You can also combine time periods by combining commands (e.g. an email sent to1d3h30m@Nudgemail.com will remind you in one day, three hours, and 30 minutes.)
Set recurring Nudgemail reminders:
You can set recurring reminders by by the hour, day, week, month, year, or even days of the week. Remember, use either the “firstname.lastname@example.org” or “(your reminder period)@nudgemail.com” format.
Your Nudgemail will be sent to you every hour on the hour.
Your Nudgemail will be sent to you every day at your set Nudge Time. (The default Nudge Time is 6:30AM and changing it is as simple as sending an email to nudgetime@Nudgemail.com with the desired nudge delivery time as the subject line.)
Send your email to everymonday@Nudgemail.com or everywed@Nudgemail.com. It works with all of the days of the week, and abbreviations work just fine (mon, tues, wed, thurs, etc). Your Nudgemail will be sent to you every week at the set day, arriving at your set Nudge Time.
Send your email to, for example, monthly5@Nudgemail.com and your Nudgemail will come on the 5th day of the month, every month (again, at your set Nudge Time). If you don’t pick a day of the month, emails sent to monthly@Nudgemail.com will come on the first of the month.
This might seem a little trickier, but it’s not, just a little longer to type. An annual reminder for every September 30th should be sent to yearly30sep@Nudgemail.com, and one for Feb 14th (we all need reminders for that one) goes to yearly14february@Nudgemail.com. You must specify both the day of the month and the month itself for this to work (in other words, yearlymarch will *not* send a nudgemail to you every March 1st, you must use yearly1march for that to work).
Add Specific Times
You can also add a specified delivery time for all recurring reminders.
For daily, weekly and yearly reminders:
Just add the desired delivery time at end of the email commands above, without any colons in the time! Be sure to include “am” or “pm” at the end of your time setting, unless you use military time (so, either 230pm or 1430). Examples below:
Daily at 5:30pm – daily530pm@NudgeMail.com
Weekly – every Tuesday at 10:00am – everytues10am@Nudgemail.com
Yearly – every August 19th at 3:30pm – yearly19aug330pm@Nudgemail.com
For monthly reminders (a little different):
IMPORTANT: For monthly recurring reminders you have to put a period between the date and the time.
ALSO, like above, you must NOT use a colon in the time. Examples below:
The 7th of every month at 3:00pm – monthly7.3PM@Nudgemail.com
The 10th of every month at 2:18am – monthly10.218am@Nudgemail.com
The 30th of every month at 3:30pm – monthly30.330pm@Nudgemail.com
Why do we need the period? Without it, our system would see a command like “monthly73pm” and get a little confused as to what time 73 PM is.
By the way, for those using the nudge@Nudgemail.com method of setting your Nudgemails, all of the above will work in the subject line.
You can send any email to snooze@Nudgemail.com and we’ll send it back to you in 1 hour.
*Want your default “snooze” time to be 30 minutes? 2 hours? Just email snoozetime@Nudgemail.comwith your new snooze time in the subject line.

Changing Your Settings:
If you ever want to get an email with your current settings, just email settings@Nudgemail.com you can also revert your settings to their defaults by emailing default@Nudgemail.com
Switch to Plain Text Mode:
If you are having trouble viewing your Nudgemail, email plain@Nudgemail.com to turn on plain text mode.
Change your Default Nudgemail Time:
When you set a Nudgemail to arrive on a day or date, it is automatically set to arrive at 6:30 am. You can change that default time by sending an email to nudgetime@Nudgemail.com with your desired time in the subject line. Click here for an example (set to 8:30AM). NOTE: changing your default time is temporarily disabled.
Change Your Time Zone:
If you are receiving your Nudgemails at a time that is different from your desired “delivery time” setting, emailsettings@Nudgemail.com and follow the link in the email under “Time Zone.”
Turn Daily Status Alerts On/Off:
To receive an updated Nudgemail status list every day – just email dailystatus@Nudgemail.com. To turn daily alerts off, just email nodailystatus@Nudgemail.com. NOTE: changing your default time is temporarily disabled.
Turn International Mode On/Off:
You can change your settings to recognize either month first (MMDD) or day first (DDMM) date formats when setting a date-specific Nudgemail – just email dayfirst@Nudgemail.com or monthfirst@Nudgemail.com, whichever suits your needs best.
Turn Confirmations On/Off:
Tired of getting confirmation emails every time you set a Nudgemail? Just email quiet@Nudgemail.com to turn on quiet mode. If you want to turn quiet mode off, email quietoff@Nudgemail.com.
Turn Vacation Mode On/Off:
Email vacation@Nudgemail.com to silence ALL Nudgemails while you are away. When you get back, just emailvacationoff@Nudgemail.com and we’ll send you what you missed!
Turn Attachment Alerts On/Off:
Because we do not currently support attachments in Nudgemail, we will alert you each time you send an email with an attachment – to turn off attachment alerts, email warnattachoff@Nudgemail.com To turn alerts back on, email warnattachon@Nudgemail.com.
